Inmarsat Maritime Fleet 55, Dual-Channel
Model: Gemini-128s
Gemini-128s is a dual-channel Inmarsat Fleet 55 ship earth stationl capable of low-rate telephony (secured and regular), 9.6 kbps fax, MPDS and high-speed ISDN data services up to 128 kbps. It has an automatic satellite tracking and antenna stabilizer that enable the terminal to operate under severe sea motions. The terminal functions under Inmarsat global area network (GAN) via Inmarsat 4th generation satellites for worldwide coverage. Gemini-128s dual-channel design provides convenience for users to operate two service modes simultaneously (e.g. voice and G4 fax; file transfer and teleconference, etc.). Gemini-128s on the spotlight (01/23/06)
Gemini-128s, Glocom's new dual-channel Fleet 55, is on the product spotlight page (page 58-59) of the Jan-March 2006 viaInmarsat magazine. Meanwhile, Gemini-128s has just been tested in the field via Inmarsat second I-4 satellite (AOR-W) this week. All services including voice, high speed data and MPDS are tested with no problems in single and double channel conditions.
